My career has spanned one full zodiac cycle and then some.
My main bread and butter is writing/editing and I’ve honed that skill across a multitude of publications, including Lonely Planet Asia, escape!, Jetgala, The Smart Local, and AsiaOne.
But you can’t survive on just carbs and fat alone. My work has evolved to include omnichannel content strategy for paid advertisers, which involves translating complex client copy into easily digestible content that’s of high utility to target audiences.
I’m proud of the work I’ve created, but my greatest achievements have been mentoring the next generation of content creators. In 13 years, I’ve mentored well over 20+ interns, many of whom have been hired as full-timers in the above publications. I enjoy working with Gen Z and find great joy in unlocking their potential and proving other generations wrong about their “lack” of work ethic.
Currently looking to grow and develop what I’ve learnt and done in new places that would love a content creator who’s always up for a challenge. I am eager to get back into doing what I do best: creating.
Cool facts about me:
Flexible between British and American English (although my colonised ass defaults to Br.E. always)
Will always use APA referencing and AP house style as they are the superior choice
Will use the Oxford Comma whenever appropriate. It is not worth debating over; sometimes it’s useful, sometimes not
Will start dozens of sentences and never complete them, but it’s only because finding the perfect one takes trial and error
Able to use ‘whom’ correctly
